Risk assessment

Performing with lasers does have certain risks and i take both my safety and that of others very seriously. To that end i have assessed the risks with the help of
wikipedia's laser safety page , in the table below i have outlined them with the steps i take to mitigate that risk to an acceptable level. I am happy to adhere to site safety guidelines and assist in the development of site laser safety guidance if required

riskmitigation
accidental firing into the sky or surrounding areas I use sub class 3 lasers that cannot reach aircraft or nearby houses but still look excitingly powerful and vibrant , i also always point them at a specific target and then engage.
potential eye damage all my lasers turn on by pressing a momentary switch that requires constant pressure to operate the laser and disengages in fractions of second when released. Unattended installation pieces use ultra safe class one lasers and are mounted securely out of reach . All other lasers are directly human controlled and aimed specifically at targets and surfaces as well as constantly moving. Both of these mechanisms limit direct exposure and being below class 3 they cannot achieve eye damage (MPE) without a concerted effort.
Use of lasers in public requires a laser operators licences all my lasers are all below class 3 so exempt from this requirement however i have done my research and operate to the same guidelines even though this is not legally required of me.
Phosphorescent paint is toxic when wet When applying any phosphorescent paint i will wear appropriate gloves and clean up afterwards , typically i do this offsite in a well ventilated environment. Where installations require usage on site this will be done strictly before the general public are allowed in.
